This Is My Truth

Image
Photo by : Francesco Sambati Image source : Link      From reading all of my classmates' blog posts, my posts and opinions about the picture are emotionally based compared to my classmates. Most of my classmate's blog post is also very similar to mine where the mention of tears and grieving is mentioned and the use of black and white in the photo. They are posts from my classmates that stand out to me the most: Derell Wilson, Marco Dasso, and Jenar Harrison posts. These posts when I read them instead of being an emotional statement seem more o f  Intellectually. In their post even though tears were mentioned like in every post that I have read instead of talking about their emotions and how they feel looking at the picture I feel as if their blog post is picking apart the picture and talking about it in a way where you feel like they know about the backstory differently than we do. I feel like their post is more of them learning about the picture...

Photojournalism and Bias

Image
Going Home     Photo by:  Ed Clark The LIFE Picture Collection Image source:   Link          After looking at this picture with no context from the article I think that this picture is about the death of someone who is important to them, everyone in the pic looked sad and very emotional especially the man in the foreground. From how this picture is framed the death affected him more than others. It also looks like he wore the uniform and is playing music to show appreciation for the person who passed. This image can also interpret many different things outside of what I have stated above it can also look like a protest or a way to show justice in the protest.  this image can be both depending on how you interpret it. As stated in this video that was provided to us by Professor Nordell "  a story has many truths at many levels and  it needs to be teased out on earth seen  and dissected and analyzed from different  leve...

The Ethics of Photojournalism

Image
I think that there can be many controversies related to ethics and photojournalism. The code of ethics . Photojournalists are often confronted with a difficult decision that can raise ethical concerns, some of the concerns can include the following:       - Invasion of privacy      - Manipulation of images      - Selective reporting     - Informed consent     - Sensitivity to culture     - Safety of subjects and photographers     - Sensationalism     - Consent and minors     - Secondary Use of images      - Conflict of interest     Photojournalism ethics are designed to help navigate these complex issues for the truth, accuracy, and fairness and ensure that the dignity and rights of individuals being documented are respected. however, these ethical decisions are often challenging and subject to interpretation, making them a sub...

Women Photojournalists - Trials and Triumphs

Image
The women photojournalist that I have chosen today is Ami Vitale who is a Nikon Ambassador and National Geographic photographer, writer, speaker, and documentary filmmaker. Ami Vitale has a remarkable affinity for life-changing events, Ami Vitale was a self-described shy, gawky child who possessed little confidence. The assessment of the grade school teacher told her that she was not very good at English stuck with her for years and though Ami Vitale was not very good at English she almost perfected the SAT math score and thought of becoming an engineer when she was younger. Ami Vitale attended high school outside Washington, D.C. Where she discovered photography at the age of 14. Using a Pentax K1000 borrowed from school she learned to talk to peopl...

Artist and AI

Image
To start this blog is about my opinions and this can be a sensitive topic for others, I have no intention of hurting or offending anyone from this blog. I want to voice my opinion on art in general and AI.      AI is a topic that a lot of artists are talking about. Not only digital artists but others are concerned about their job in the art fields that involve putting work online, digital artist or photographer is at risk of getting replaced by AI the photo that artist can produce AI can also do the same with their intelligence and the data they have based on the internet. but one thing that I think AI can't do is create its own ideas, I know that AI can generate any picture that you want by typing in the keywords of the picture you want to be and describing it as simple and detailed at the same time to get the picture you want, but all AI is doing is bringing a lot of data of pictures on the same keywords that you want and mixed them together which ca...

Working in the Digital Age

Image
after researching how the technology of cameras evolved to how it is now, I am more appreciative of the technology I have today because some of the processes back then sound like a pain to me, for example staying still for eight minutes for a picture or even remember the chemicals for my picture to develop properly. There are many digital photographic technologies and processes for example : early crud digital cameras, quality less than film fully featured digital cameras, called DSLRS, quality rivals film  transmitting via cell phone and laptop satellite phones wireless transmitters hybrid still / video cameras DSLRs new digital marketplace wifi enabled DSLRs     O ne of the processes that probably saved my college life was transmitting via cell phone and laptop. Many classes require me to take a picture or video on my phone and transfer my data to my laptop. In this class for example I need pictures that I have taken on my phone to be on my blog post...
